The process begins with your video purpose and duration. Who is your intended audience? What do you want them to learn, feel or do? We explore filming locations, special requests, timeline, deadline and budget.
There are three distinct phases of creating a video: 1) Pre-Production. 2) Production. 3) Post-Production. Here's how they work:
Pre-Pro is when your video is actually created -- before we meet on location to start filming. Through prompt communication (texts, emails, phone, Zoom), we transform your vision into a script that is camera-ready. Customized branding starts with the introduction and conclusion -- usually ending with a viewer call to action. Each branded video features a story mixed with your logo, royalty-free music, titles and motion graphics.
We explore theme to draft a script, storyboard and shot list. Branding and multimedia in various formats: JPG, PNG, PDF, etc for logos, fonts, Pantones, captions.
Location/s, maps, parking, on-camera talent, equipment, props, releases, permits, copyrights, schedules, meals and "Plan B".
Typically the fastest phase, Production is comprised of: Setup. Rehearse. Film. Wrap up. My teleprompter helps you stay on message and saves time when filming. The camera is your mirror, so relax and let's make your movie!
Post-Production (editing) loops back to the work we did in Pre-Pro, resulting in a rough cut Version 1 video that meets your expectations. Then we finalize the elements of story development to help bring your video to life. There's usually 3 to 4 versions before you can share the approved Final video online.
In any creative industry, the Production Triangle * is a natural phenomenon that describes how three vital elements affect pricing and quality: Time. Money. Quality. You can choose two.
1. Produce a project very quickly with a small budget. Result: Poor quality. 2. Produce a project very quickly with a big budget. Result: Amazing quality. 3. Produce a project very slowly with no budget. Result: Spectacular quality.
Essentially, this means a video needs either pre-production time or production funding in order to deliver a branded, professional quality product. The Client’s decision is to spend either time or money in order to receive a quality video.
That’s a simplified explanation of this Production Triangle phenomenon, but you get the idea. So, what’s the best solution? Spend about 70% of the project time in the Pre-Production Phase in order to save time and money during Production filming. The Post-Production editing phase loops back to Pre-Pro, enabling the creation of a quality product that resonates with audiences. *Source: ProductionNow.com
This teamwork approach is process-driven with a focus on producing timely, branded videos to either publicize or teach. We'll work together during the 3 Phases, from concept to completion. And you’ll soon share your new videos on social media.
